Out & About In December

Rest and relaxation is a key part of fitness. Your mental and emotional wellness is paramount to your well-being. This month I took the metro into New York City and was able to enjoy the cold air, bustling city energy and iconic Rockefeller Plaza. Among the many activities we did, we enjoyed seeing the infamous Christmas Tree, St. Patrick’s Cathedral, the must-see skating rink, the spectacle of the gorgeous Saks Fifth Avenue windows and — of course — the flagship Macy’s to shop for a winter coat.

As a native New Yorker, I know how to navigate the chaos of the city. It invigorates me. But I do find it feels good to dip in the the fantasy of the city lights and then return to the calmness of the suburbs. This trip was definitely an adventure, and the festive energy is so good for the soul.

Back home, however, I find myself craving REST! So I am indulging myself by sitting in front of the fireplace and basking in the moment. And I encourage you to do the same this season!

Life is a balance, ladies! Indulge in the season, but listen to your body’s desire for slumber, rest and sometimes just simply being lazy and binge-watching Netflix.
