February: The Month for Acts of Self Love
February gives us the perfect opportunity to recalibrate & start fresh.
I’ve learned to love the month of February. Here’s why…
December is a mad rush of events and activities. January places silent demands on us for aiming high and peak performance. But February? February is the quiet and very cool little sister to January’s overt pressure for perfectionism and promises.
February doesn’t rush or demand reinvention. In fact, it does not ask us to prove anything to ourselves or anyone else.
February lives quietly between the fresh optimism of January and the energetic pull of spring. For me, this month I find silent permission to settle in.
I’ve learned not to fight the quiet power of this month.
There’s a softness to February that often goes unnoticed. This is a month with shorter days and slower mornings. It’s cold out, so we feel a natural pull inward. Instead of pushing harder, I’ve come to appreciate this as a time to listen more closely to what my body and mind are actually asking me for.
Right now I’m feeling called to enjoy: More sleep, simpler meals and movement that feels supportive rather than punishing. This time of year is also inviting me to breathe, reflect and recalibrate. And yes, I’m writing in a journal. I am documenting my desires, my visions for the future and allowing myself to express myself without judgement.
Progress doesn’t always look like progress. Sometimes it looks like refinement. This might mean making small adjustments to routines and letting go of what feels heavy.
I encourage you to use the natural lull of February to prioritize what truly fits this season of life.
February isn’t about doing more. But like it’s cherished holiday, Valentine’s Day, this month is about doing what feels right to you. Pay attention to what feels like acts of love to your mind, body and soul.
Strengthen your awareness of those small personal acts of love for self and I can ASSURE you that your future is going to shine bright and bring you happiness. And it all begins now with the smallest daily actions.
