Strength Training vs. Cardio: Which Should Come First?

This is one of the most common questions I get—and the answer depends on your goals.

Here’s the rule of thumb:

  • If your goal is fat loss + muscle tone, do strength first.

  • If your goal is endurance or race training, do cardio first.

Strength training takes more energy and focus, so prioritizing it early in your session ensures you lift with good form and intention.

Bonus tip: Even 20 minutes of cardio after weights can make a difference. Movement doesn’t have to be perfect—just consistent.
